- Ingredients:
- 8oz package of whole FunGuy white button mushrooms
- 1 shallot
- 5-6 garlic cloves
- 4-5 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup white wine
- 1 tablespoon butter
- pinch of coarse salt
- cilantro or flat leaf parsley
- crusty bread, sliced
Looking to convert a that one person who avoids mushrooms at all costs? Then the FunGuy has the perfect mushroom dish to introduce them to!
Ridiculously easy and quick, these wine soaked mushrooms with slices of crispy fried garlic are so rich and buttery that all they need is a slice or two of crusty bread to ferry them from plate to mouth.
We suggest a fresh garden salad on the side, and you can say it was healthy too!
DIRECTIONS:
- Brush off any debris from the FunGuy mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim the stems. Cut half of the mushrooms into quarters and thinly slice the other half. Peel the shallot and trim the root end before cutting it into quarters lengthwise. Peel the garlic cloves and slice them thinly.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic cloves to the skillet and let them fry until very lightly golden brown and remove from the oil to a plate lined with paper towels before adding the shallots, cut side down to the pan, and let them cook 1 minute.
- Add the mushrooms to the pan and let them cook about 5 minutes, or until they have reduced in size and have started to brown. Pour in the wine, stir, and cook another 2-3 minutes or until the liquid in the pan has reduced down. Stir in the butter and cook one more minute before turning off the heat.
- Return the fried garlic to the mushrooms and season with salt. Add the cilantro or parsley to the mushrooms and serve immediately with sliced of crusty bread.
Have a Fun meal!
