Forget the light diet from summer, with autumn upon us it’s time for something to indulge in!
This FunGuy burger made with Worcestershire seasoned mushrooms, sharp Swiss cheese, and topped with a fried egg just enjoy each bite and worry about the healthy bit tomorrow.
We promise not to tell anyone that yesterday was your cheat day either.
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine the beef, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a bowl and make sure to mix with your fingers until well blended. Divide the meat into 4 balls and press each ball between a couple pieces of parchment paper to flatten them evenly. Shape the edges with your fingers to make the patties circular. Cover and let rest while sauteing the mushrooms.
- Heat half of the olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add the FunGuy mushrooms and allow them to cook 2-3 minutes before adding the Worcestershire sauce and stirring to coat the mushrooms. Move the mushrooms to one side of the skillet.
- Add the burger patties to the hot skillet and allow them to cook 4-5 minutes on each side, while moving the mushrooms around the pan to keep them from sticking. Scoop up the mushrooms and place them directly on top of the burgers before layering a slice of Swiss cheese on top. Allow the cheese to melt before transferring the burgers to a plate with aluminum tented over them to rest while making the eggs.
- Heat the rest of the olive oil in the pan, reduced the heat to medium-low, and crack the eggs into it. Let them cook 2-5 minutes or until the white is firm and no longer wet and the edges are lightly crisped. Gently flip the egg over, turn off the heat, and allow the top of the egg cook with the residual heat of the pan for about 1 minute. Transfer the eggs to a plate.
- Open the hamburger buns and place them, cut side down, on the hot pan to lightly toast for 1 minute.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on each half of the hamburger bun then layer the burgers with the mushrooms and cheese and place an egg on top. Add the top half of the bun and serve immediately with fries, salad, or chips!
Have a Fun meal!
