- Ingredients:
- 4 thick slices of good bread
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 8oz package of sliced FunGuy white button mushrooms
- 1 apple, cored and sliced
- 3-4 leaves fresh sage, chopped
- Pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Here’s a toast that embodies the colorful cool taste of autumn in every bite! It’s so easy, classy, and delicious that it’s sure to be the new weekend breakfast of the season with its butter sautéed apples, sage, mushrooms and melted sharp cheddar.
It’s even good enough to have on a weekday or even to nibble on for a midday snack.
DIRECTIONS:
- Turn on the broiler on the oven.
- Toast the bread in a toaster to your liking. While the bread is being toasted, prepare the FunGuy mushrooms and apples.
- Melt half of the butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the mushrooms to the pan and sauté 2-3 minutes or until tender. Sprinkle with a bit of salt and transfer the mushrooms to a bowl.
- Melt the other half of the butter in the pan and add in the apple slices and sage. Toss the apples in the butter and allow then to cook 4-5 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Remove the toast from the toaster and lay it on a baking tray. Top each toast with apple slices, mushrooms and a bit of cheese. Place the tray on the top shelf of the oven and let it cook 1-2 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
- Remove the toasts from the oven and allow to cool 1-2 minutes before serving!
Have a Fun meal!
