- Ingredients:
- 2 leeks
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 8oz package of sliced FunGuy white button mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons white wine
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Looking for a little something extra to add to your otherwise plain meal? Let the FunGuy come in and save the day with this delicious butter sautéed mushroom and leek recipe!
Toss it on top of mashed potatoes, a roasted vegetable puree, or dress up that bit of steak or chicken to give it just a little oomph without the sogginess of a sauce.
DIRECTIONS:
- On a cutting board, trim both ends of the leeks, remove the outside 2 or 3 layers and wash them well under cold water. Place the leeks back on the cutting board and slice thinly into rounds.
- Melt the butter in a non-stick pan over medium high heat. Add in the leeks and cook 2 minutes. Next add in the FunGuy mushrooms and sauté for 4-5 minutes or until tender and lightly browned. Pour the wine into the pan and deglaze the bottom by scraping any crispy bits from the bottom. Allow the wine to mostly evaporate; approximately 2-3 minutes. Season the mushrooms and leeks with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately on mashed potatoes, steak, chicken or anything else you desire!
Have a Fun meal!
