- Ingredients:
- 8oz package of sliced FunGuy white button mushrooms
- ¼ cup sea salt
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
- 1 sprig fresh oregano
Holiday cooking, from parties to the big meal for the day, all needs a punch of flavor. Salt is the easiest and best way to do it, but this time it’s brought FunGuy and some herbalicious friends to the party!
Don’t like oregano or thyme? Want to add a bit of rosemary instead or just want to customize it for each dish? Make a batch without the herbs and add them as you go!
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 150F.
- Lay FunGuy mushrooms out on a parchment lined baking sheet in a single layer. Place the mushrooms into the oven to dry for 1 hour.
- Remove the sheet and blot the mushrooms with a paper towel to remove excess water. Turn the mushrooms over and blot again. Return the mushrooms to the oven and let them dry another 1 – 1 ½ hours or until dried.
- Once the mushrooms are dry, take them out of the oven and place them in a pile on a cutting board. Remove the stems from the thyme and oregano and lay them in the mushroom pile. With a sharp knife, finely chop the mushrooms and herbs.
- Pour the salt into a jar and add the mushrooms and herbs. Place the lid on top and shake to combine.
- Sprinkle this FunGuy herbed salt on anything savory from steak to salad and enjoy!
Have a Fun meal!
